The park is located 1.4 miles south of Rice on River Road (CR 55) and from Highway 10 west on 105th Street and north onto River Road to 11231 River Road NE. You may park at the farmsite, which consists of a white farmhouse with outbuildings. A hiking trail runs south from the farmhouse along the top of the river bluff. This land was purchased Aug 12, 2002 and consists of 289 acres, including 3,300 feet of undeveloped shoreline on the Mississippi River, a rare feature. High banks provide scenic views of a river bend and islands and adjacent to a 220-acre wildlife management area. The County completed a master plan for the development of the park in December 2005 and highlights include restoration of the natural prairie, provision of picnic shelters, provision of hike and ski trails, wildlife blinds and observation areas and preservation of the historic farmstead.
