Land

Established in 1849, Benton County was one of the first nine counties in Minnesota. An abundance of pine and hardwood forests encouraged thriving industries including logging, railroad construction and sawmill operations.

Remnants of those settler days can still be seen and felt in Benton County. Filled with grassy hillsides, granite out croppings, small wetlands and other natural treasures, residents enjoy the quiet of the farm fields and forests.

Our county planners have taken a proactive approach in designating growth in rural areas, which allows for steady expansion while still maintaining the integrity of the land.

We have developed a reputation for offering strong financial and incentive packages for companies seeking to expand an existing business or those wanting to relocate to Benton County. Affordable land is plentiful and several Benton County cities have successful industrial parks.
