Benton County Recognized for Bond Rating Upgrade

12/16/2008 - Terri Heaton from Springsted, Inc. was in attendance to present the County Board with a plaque recognizing the County’s achievement in obtaining a bond rating upgrade by Moody’s from A2 to A1 which occurred in May of 2008.  Heaton explained that the bond rating upgrade was the result of a number of factors, including the well-managed financial operations of the county, supported by substantial reserves, written policies, conservative management, affordable debt and pro-active economic development policies.  She noted that it takes many years of good planning, decision making and leadership of county officials and staff to accomplish a bond rating upgrade to A1.
