Benton County Residents Tracey and Kevin Wieber were received the Minnesota Social Service Association’s (MSSA) 2020 Outstanding Child Foster Care Award. The Wieber family was nominated by staff at Benton County. The Wiebers first received the Outstanding Child Foster Care Award from MSSA’s Region 7 Chapter, and then were selected to receive the award at the statewide level.

The Wieber family has been providing child foster care for three years, during which time they have cared for 25 children, including sibling groups. Additionally, the Wiebers  have adopted one of their foster children. They have cared for children with significant physical, medical, and emotional needs. The entire Wieber family, including their biological children, welcome foster children into their home as part of their family.

Staff at Benton County describe the Wiebers as a dedicated foster family that creates a warm and welcoming home for children. The Wiebers are active participants in support services for their foster children and go out of their way to help connect children with community resources. In addition, the Wiebers have helped recruit other foster families in Benton County and have provided respite care for other foster families.
