"Benton County Reduces Property Tax Penalties in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic"

May 5, 2020

Today the Benton County Board of Commissioners took action to help County taxpayers who could be experiencing the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the authority of state law, the Commissioners authorized to the Auditor-Treasurer to reduce or abate one-half the penalties on late property taxes paid after the May 15th deadline through July 31st. Payments made after July 31st will be subject to the normal penalty provisions in state law. Questions about today’s action can be addressed to the Benton County Auditor-Treasurer (320.968.5006)
