This includes, but is not limited to, acts of nature such as flood, fire and severe weather, as well as industrial accidents and terrorism events. The Emergency Management Office maintains the Emergency Mobile Communications Trailers.

The Emergency Management Office works closely with state and federal agencies, such as the Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). They also work with neighboring jurisdictions and the cities and townships within the county.
